Milena Crupi’s art represents a daily visual glistening of truth, which are often disturbing and composite in nature. It is the viewer’s job to “decipher” the truth. Besides giving meaning to truth, the artist denounces those who are indifferent or insensitive to it. Crupi pushes the viewer to observe without blinders, even if that means isolating himself from the familiar. The artist hopes to transform the viewer as they engage with her work. The spectator hereby becomes a “witness” from a symbolic distance who observes, reasons, and reflects.
